Hello from Guangzhou! That's right….we made it! And, let me tell you….this is more like it! I can't wait to see what this city has in store for us.
We basically spent the day packing and getting ready to leave Changsha. It was still raining, so we decided not to leave the hotel. We did take the girls to the play room again.
Our guide, Vicky, picked up Olivia's passport and had everything ready to go when she met us in the lobby late this afternoon. After a short flight to GZ, we are now settled into the Garden Hotel. It is super nice and would remind you of something on a small scale in Vegas (without the casinos). There are fountains outside, and the lobby is very well-appointed. Our room is nice as well. It has a little sitting area with a separate bedroom. That proved to be very helpful in Changsha, so I'm so thankful we could do that again here in GZ. I'll take some pictures later to show everyone.
There is a major "trade fair" going on right now in GZ, so the hotels and area are very busy. It's basically a huge trade show/convention that they have every year during this time.
Miss Olivia made it great on the flight and didn't make a peep…..I hope that continues later in the week when we tackle the LONG flight home.
Tomorrow will be fairly busy for us. We have a medical appointment in the morning, a little sightseeing, and paperwork tomorrow afternoon. We will also meet up with the other families who are here from our adoption agency. Evidently, all of their flights were delayed tonight…some as late as midnight….thankfully we didn't have that issue.
Until next time,
Jill
