Waiting...

This wait is torture….just torture.  We are currently sitting in the hotel room watching, of all things,  a Red Sox baseball game.  (Fry is here with us.)  Ansley is napping.  We have to be in the lobby in about 4 hours.

We woke up early this morning and went down to breakfast in the hotel.  We had heard that this was the best meal of the day for Westerners, but I think it's all relative.  We were definitely spoiled at Disneyland and being a picky eater is not a good thing.  The buffet did offer some decent options for us (fruit, juice, breads/pastries, sausage, cereal, their version of french toast, fried rice, some kind of fungus (did not eat this, needless to say), etc.

The best part about our breakfast was running into an American family from Boston who is here to visit the orphanage in which their daughter grew up.  They adopted her 10 years ago, and this was the first time that they have been back.  They were leaving soon after breakfast to go on their tour.  The Mom was so helpful and kind, and we hope to see them again tomorrow.

After breakfast, we walked around the hotel.  There are a lot of high-end shops in the hotel, as well as an indoor pool.  I imagine a lot of swimming in our near future.

It is raining today, so Philip ventured out alone to head to a little supermarket down the street (not too far) to get us some bottled water and other drinks.  We cannot drink any of the water here or even use it to brush our teeth.  So, needless to say, we'll be going through a lot of bottled water for the next couple of weeks.

There is another family in Changsha that is also adopting.  I met them in a Facebook group.  They are getting their little boy this morning, and we are hoping to meet up later tonight depending on how things are going.  They are staying right around the corner from us.

Thanks for your prayers.  We need them.  Olivia spent her last night with everyone and everything she knows last night.  She is currently on a long car-ride (6 hours), and this is her first time in a car (remember no car seats).  Sometimes the children get sick on the long ride, especially since they have never done anything like that before.  I have extra clothes in my backpack just in case.  We also have packed diapers, wipes, sippy cup, bottle, Cheerios, Goldfish, a book, small stuffed panda bear, camera, and lovey.  While you are sleeping, we will meet this precious little one and can't wait to introduce her to you.  Our internet is really spotty, so I'll update again as soon as I can.

Until next time,
Jill
